Prescribing home nursing care
If medical care is needed at home, we assess eligibility for home nursing.
What to expect
Home nursing can support medical treatment when certain measures are necessary at home. These may include wound care, administration of prescribed medication and other treatment-related nursing measures. The type, frequency and duration depend on medical need.
Assessing eligibility together
Prescribing is subject to legal requirements. We assess which measures are necessary for treatment and what support is already available. Home nursing is separate from general long-term care services.
Prescribing and working together
Where needed, we specify measures and coordinate further care. The prescription is submitted to the health insurer for approval. We review progress before continuation. Information about the scope of services is available from the Federal Joint Committee.
Before your appointment
Bring current reports, your medication plan and any hospital discharge letter. Information about the nursing service involved helps coordination.
