GP programme

Your health. Well coordinated.

In the GP programme, also known as GP-centred care (HZV), your GP practice is your first point of contact. Results, medication and further treatment are coordinated here, keeping your care personal and clear.

Legal framework and our participation
Under section 73b of the German Social Code V, statutory health insurers must offer GP-centred care. Participation is voluntary for patients and GP practices. Our practice now participates to strengthen personal support, coordinated treatment and targeted preventive care.

More scope for your treatment
The special care and payment arrangements of the GP programme can give us greater flexibility in medically appropriate investigations and treatment, depending on the contract. In suitable cases, this may allow us to offer additional laboratory tests and investigations without an extra charge to you. Our practice bears part of the laboratory costs. We discuss the available tests according to your individual health needs and insurer's contract.

Unfortunately, not all blood tests can be covered: individual specialist laboratory tests can cost more than the payment we receive for a patient's care over an entire quarter. We therefore select investigations carefully. If a test requires private payment, we explain the cost beforehand.

Benefits at a glance

A practice that knows you

A familiar clinician supports you over time and knows your medical history and personal concerns.

Better coordinated treatment

When specialist care is needed, your GP coordinates the next steps and helps put results from other practices into context.

Keeping track of your medicines

An overview of your medicines helps identify potential interactions and unnecessary duplicate prescriptions.

Planning preventive care

We discuss suitable screening and vaccinations. Additional benefits and examination intervals depend on the individual HZV contract.

Supporting people with chronic conditions

Regular consultations and coordinated treatment help keep long-term conditions and care plans in view.

A clearer route through your care

With information collected in one place, further tests can be planned more precisely and unnecessary duplicate investigations avoided.

Discussing your participation

1. Contact our practice team and bring your health insurance card.
2. Together, we check the options for your insurer and explain the participation terms.
3. If you would like to join, we discuss registration and when the programme begins.

Frequently asked questions about the GP programme

Is participation voluntary?

Yes. Joining the GP programme is voluntary. You can receive GP care without registering.

What applies to specialist appointments?

In the GP programme, you generally contact your chosen GP first and access specialist care by referral. Exceptions include ophthalmology, gynaecology and emergencies. We explain the exact rules for your contract.

How long does the commitment last?

Participation usually involves a commitment of at least one year. Start dates, renewal, cancellation and a possible change of practice follow your insurer’s terms.

Which insurers and additional benefits are included?

Options vary by insurer and contract. We check which participation options and additional benefits are available to you. More frequent check-ups, priority appointments or shorter specialist waiting times are not universally guaranteed.

What does participation cost?

The GP programme is intended for people with statutory health insurance. Benefits and terms depend on the insurer’s contract; participation is generally available without an additional contribution. Privately insured patients can ask about their individual GP care.
