Understanding your starting point
We discuss your weight history, previous attempts, symptoms and expectations. Medicines and other health conditions are considered, with examinations or blood tests chosen according to your individual needs.
Step by step towards a healthier weight.
Losing weight can be difficult. We offer non-judgemental, individual medical support, considering your health, daily life and realistic goals. Together, we discuss nutrition, physical activity and possible further treatments.

Lasting changes do not require perfect days. We discuss suitable eating habits, regular physical activity, sleep and achievable goals. Specialist nutritional counselling or other services may be helpful where needed.
Some prescription medicines can increase fullness and reduce appetite. Such treatment complements dietary changes and physical activity. It still requires medical supervision and is not suitable for everyone.
For certain authorised treatments in adults, eligibility may include a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above with weight-related health conditions. This alone does not mean a prescription will be issued: the medicine’s authorisation, your medical history and its benefits and risks are all considered.
We discuss how treatment is used, follow-up appointments and possible side effects, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea or constipation. Persistent severe abdominal pain needs prompt medical assessment. Pregnancy, breastfeeding and other health conditions must be discussed before treatment.
Weight management is a longer-term process. Together, we review progress, tolerability and the ongoing plan. Medical advice as part of diabetes mellitus treatment is covered by statutory health insurance. Advice for weight reduction is a self-pay service: consultations, prescriptions for weight-loss injections and the necessary laboratory monitoring are billed privately. Medicines used solely for weight reduction are also generally excluded from statutory reimbursement. We explain the expected costs before treatment begins.
