Sick notes and medical certificates
We assess illness-related incapacity for work and advise about other required certificates.
What to expect
A sick note requires medical assessment. We consider the illness and the demands of your work. Tell us about symptoms, when they began and your occupation. The necessary examination and period of certification are decided individually.
How electronic sick notes work
For people with statutory insurance, sick notes are generally sent electronically to the health insurer. Employers retrieve the relevant information from there. You must still inform your employer yourself about your incapacity for work and its expected duration. Different procedures apply in special circumstances.
Insurance-covered service or private certificate?
Medically necessary assessment of incapacity for work is part of statutory medical care. Other certificates, such as for sport, travel, examinations or insurance, are not automatically covered and may be charged privately. We assess the purpose and discuss necessary examinations and possible costs before issuing them.
Before your appointment
Bring your health insurance card and any required forms. Tell us who needs the certificate and what information is requested. Please contact the practice early.
