Services / Service details
We assess the need for specialist examination and issue a referral when medically indicated.
A referral supports cooperation between the GP practice and other specialties. It includes the medical question and relevant information so the receiving practice can understand the reason. Whether a referral is required and which specialty is appropriate depend on your concern.
We clarify which symptoms or findings need further investigation. Previous results, suspected diagnoses or a specific question may be recorded on the referral form to prepare a focused examination.
A referral does not establish a diagnosis or replace appointment booking. The receiving practice decides which examinations are useful. Ask for reports to be sent to us or bring them with you so we can consider recommendations and follow-up appointments together.
Tell us about symptoms, existing specialist appointments and the reason for your request. Bring current reports and your health insurance card. Reports after the examination help with ongoing primary care.
