Rheumatic conditions

Recognising inflammatory rheumatic symptoms early.

Understanding the condition

Rheumatism is an umbrella term for different conditions. In rheumatoid arthritis, a misdirected immune response particularly affects joints. Early treatment can limit damage; accurate diagnosis distinguishes inflammation from other causes of pain.

Common symptoms

Prolonged morning stiffness, swollen joints and pain in several joints may be clues. Tiredness or general symptoms may occur. The pattern, affected joints and associated signs matter more than a single blood result.

Diagnosis and assessment

We examine joints and request blood tests for relevant questions. Early rheumatology assessment is important when inflammatory rheumatic disease is suspected. Specialists can arrange additional tests and select specific disease-modifying treatment.

Treatment and ongoing care

We support specialist treatment, review the medication plan and coordinate monitoring. Adapted activity, physiotherapy and vaccination advice may complement care. During immunosuppressive treatment, signs of infection and new symptoms should be discussed promptly.

Monitoring your progress together

We discuss which changes to watch for in everyday life and when another check-up would be useful. Your questions, personal goals and how well you tolerate treatment inform further decisions. Where needed, we coordinate with your treating specialists.

Your appointment at the practice

Bring your health insurance card, recent medical letters, existing test results and a medication list. Note any changes in your symptoms and your main questions. Do not change existing treatment yourself; we will discuss together whether adjustments are needed.
