Home sleep breathing test

Investigating sleep-related breathing problems with overnight monitoring.

What to expect

You receive a device and instructions for overnight monitoring. A doctor reviews the recorded measurements, and we discuss the next steps afterwards.

Assessing breathing problems during sleep

An overnight investigation can help with loud snoring, witnessed breathing pauses or marked daytime sleepiness. Respiratory polygraphy records several measurements during sleep, including breathing, oxygen saturation and pulse.

Home monitoring and next steps

You receive a portable device and instructions for its use. After you return it, we assess the recording alongside your symptoms. The test can indicate sleep-related breathing disorders; further investigations, such as a sleep laboratory assessment, may follow if needed.

Before your appointment

Please bring existing medical reports and an up-to-date medication list. We discuss any special preparation, the exact scope and possible costs when arranging your appointment.
