What to expect

Before a young person starts training or employment, we take time to review their medical history and carry out a physical examination. We discuss possible health limitations relevant to the planned work and explain the required certificate.

Health when starting working life

The examination under the German Youth Employment Protection Act assesses whether the planned occupation or tasks could put a young person's health at risk. It is separate from general preventive examinations for adolescents and relates specifically to training and employment.

Documents and certification

We ask about your medical history and examine your general health. Tell us about the planned work and bring the examination authorisation certificate and required documents. At the appointment, we discuss the necessary certificate and whether a follow-up examination may be required.

Before your appointment

Please bring existing medical reports and an up-to-date medication list. We discuss any special preparation, the exact scope and possible costs when arranging your appointment.
