Assessing travel risk and vaccination at an authorised centre where needed.
Yellow fever is a mosquito-borne viral infection in parts of Africa and South America. Severe illness can be life-threatening. Entry requirements may matter alongside individual protection.
Decisions consider the exact itinerary, stopovers, current requirements and personal health risks. The vaccine is live, so immunosuppression, pregnancy and certain age-related risks require careful assessment.
Vaccination and international documentation are provided by an authorised yellow fever vaccination centre. We advise on planning and help identify the appropriate service. Entry deadlines and any medically recommended booster are assessed individually; do not leave planning until just before departure.
Before vaccination, we discuss underlying conditions, medicines, allergies and previous vaccine reactions. You receive information on benefits and possible side effects. A short observation period follows. Pain or redness at the injection site and temporary general symptoms may occur; more severe or lasting symptoms should receive medical assessment.
Reimbursement for travel vaccinations depends on factors including the purpose of travel and your insurance. Many statutory insurers offer additional benefits, but this is not a general guarantee of coverage. We clarify the planned services and possible charges in advance. Please check coverage with your insurer in good time.
Bring your vaccination record and an up-to-date medication list. Mention planned travel, pregnancy or immunosuppressive treatment. The vaccination series and boosters depend on the vaccine and current recommendations.
