COVID-19 vaccination

Individual advice on protection against severe COVID-19.

Why protection matters

COVID-19 may be severe, especially with certain risks. Vaccination primarily aims to reduce severe illness. Recommendations and variant adaptations change, so selection follows current STIKO recommendations and available vaccines.

Who may benefit

Age, underlying conditions, immunosuppression and previous vaccinations or infections influence the recommendation. We assess whether basic immunity needs completion or a booster is advised. People at increased risk may need a different plan from healthy people without particular risks.

Planning and particular considerations

Bring evidence of previous vaccinations and mention known infections. Timing and vaccine selection are individual, considering the current vaccine, personal risks and intervals since previous doses or infections. Ask about availability when booking.

Information and observation

Before vaccination, we discuss underlying conditions, medicines, allergies and previous vaccine reactions. You receive information on benefits and possible side effects. A short observation period follows. Pain or redness at the injection site and temporary general symptoms may occur; more severe or lasting symptoms should receive medical assessment.

Costs and reimbursement

Medically recommended vaccinations may be covered by statutory insurance under the applicable vaccination directive. The specific indication and your insurance cover determine eligibility. Occupational vaccination may be the responsibility of occupational health services. We discuss scope and any charges in advance.

Your appointment at the practice

Bring your vaccination record and an up-to-date medication list. Mention planned travel, pregnancy or immunosuppressive treatment. The vaccination series and boosters depend on the vaccine and current recommendations.
