Additional protection tailored to an underlying condition.
Chronic conditions may increase the risk of severe infections. Additional vaccination recommendations are therefore important for certain heart, lung, metabolic, liver or kidney disorders. Selection depends on diagnosis, age and existing protection.
Depending on circumstances, influenza, pneumococcal, COVID-19 or other vaccines may be appropriate. There is no single additional package for every chronic condition. Medicines and planned treatment influence individual advice.
We review your vaccination record alongside your medical history. An agreed plan identifies missing vaccines and suitable timing. Decisions are coordinated between treating practices where needed. Vaccination complements rather than replaces treatment of the underlying condition.
Before vaccination, we discuss underlying conditions, medicines, allergies and previous vaccine reactions. You receive information on benefits and possible side effects. A short observation period follows. Pain or redness at the injection site and temporary general symptoms may occur; more severe or lasting symptoms should receive medical assessment.
Medically recommended vaccinations may be covered by statutory insurance under the applicable vaccination directive. The specific indication and your insurance cover determine eligibility. Occupational vaccination may be the responsibility of occupational health services. We discuss scope and any charges in advance.
Bring your vaccination record and an up-to-date medication list. Mention planned travel, pregnancy or immunosuppressive treatment. The vaccination series and boosters depend on the vaccine and current recommendations.
