GP support alongside neurological treatment in everyday life.
Parkinson's involves changes in certain brain nerve cells that can affect movement and other bodily functions. Not all trembling means Parkinson's. Diagnosis and specialist treatment are assessed by neurology.
Possible signs include slowed movement, muscle stiffness, smaller steps and tremor at rest. Sleep, digestion, mood or circulation may also be affected. Symptoms differ from person to person.
We review changes, falls, medication use and daily limitations. Neurological examination and any further tests distinguish other causes. With an established diagnosis, specialist findings guide shared care.
Treatment may include medicines, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech or swallowing therapy. We monitor other conditions, interactions and practical medication difficulties. The aim is to preserve independence and quality of life. Medicines should not be abruptly changed without advice.
We discuss which changes to watch for in everyday life and when another check-up would be useful. Your questions, personal goals and how well you tolerate treatment inform further decisions. Where needed, we coordinate with your treating specialists.
Bring your health insurance card, recent medical letters, existing test results and a medication list. Note any changes in your symptoms and your main questions. Do not change existing treatment yourself; we will discuss together whether adjustments are needed.
